A puzzlement and a shame. I've always been irritated at the way the Welk

was able to buy the classical catalogue back, just had no clue what to do

keywords "Vanguard," "Welk," and "Bach," and you'll see what I've said.)

The current Vanguard is Artemis, which must have a lease arrangement or
maybe just bought somehow the V. catalog. Some of this stuff was never
on CD pre-Artemis, like Hungerford's Chopin Sonata 3; so it's clear that
at least in that case what BRO is selling is the Artemis releases. They
do seem to be slightly elusive; not to mention, they don't conform
closely to what Artemis has announced as a schedule. Overstock.com used
to have a fair number; but the price was nothing like the
liquidation-variety cheapness currently at BRO. I hope they end up
listing more than what's there now.
