Furtwangler's 1950 La Scala Ring cycle- best mastering ?

I am wondering if anyone has compared the two masterings of the
Furtwangler Ring live Ring cycle from Milan in 1950 ? The two I know of
are the Gebhardt and the Music and Arts set. There were no doubt other
ones, probably long out of print. Gebhardt has also released the other
Furtwangler Ring cycle, the RAI studio recording from 1953. The covers
of the two are similar, so it can be confusing. The Gebhardt copy of
the 1950 cycle I have is a German copy that has a different number and
cover from the one shown now at Crotchet.

The latest issue of Fanfare reviews the Gebhardt 1953 set and the
reviewer claims the earlier EMI maatering, which seems to still be
available although OOP without breaking the bank, is superior. Don't
know if that is true or not as I have neither of these.
