I don't know dave. In the judeochristian tradition at least, the word
"demonic" conotates something that is attractive, tempting and at least
superficially beautiful. (Who would want to sell their soul for
something that was ugly?) Hence, if it sounds anything like "Stairway
to Heaven" frontwards, "STH" backwards does not sound demonic at all,
either from a classical standpoint or a rock and roll standpoint. It's
just an awful song, anyway you look at it.

What would happen if I played Delius's "Walk to the Paradise Garden"
backwards? Would something bad happen very slowly?

Something really horrible happens during forward plays.
I don't know what reversal would bring about.
