The new macbook I am getting seamlessly switches from Mac OS
to Windows in a couple of seconds. It runs Windows lightning fast
with its dual core 2 ghz processor. But I won't be using that feature,
because there is absolutely nothing in Windows that I would want
that I don't already have in Mac OS.
If you think 2 ghz is lighting fast, well that is only because you
don't have experience with really fast machines.
The Intel Core Duo used in the Macbook and Macbook Pros is *the* hot mobile
chip today. Dell's top of the line $3500 XPS "The Showstopper" laptop runs
Intel Core Duos from 1.83 to 2.16 GHz.
These new Apple laptops should smoke in comparison to previous models, only
caveat being applications that have not been converted to Universal binary
mode yet (like Word and some popular Adobe apps) that run in what I think
they call "Rosetta" compatability mode. I think Photoshop is a bummer for
some heavy users.
