Paul Goldstein <Paul_member@xxxxxxxxxxx> appears to have caused the
following letters to be typed in news:e0julk09g0@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:
In article <1143830687.858927.242660@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>,
kerrison126-spartan@xxxxxxxxxxx says...
I see he's referred to in this link as "Sir" Andre Previn but he can't
use that title publicly. He's not a British citizen so it's a purely
honorary title. Solti took British citizenship so he could become Sir
George, but Ormandy did not, so although Ormandy was also awarded an
honorary knighthood he could never be referred to as Sir Eugene.
Haitink is another honorary knight but being Dutch he can't be called
Sir Bernard either.
Is he called Mynheer Haitink?
Probably, and I imagine many people call him Maestro.
("We haven't figured out just what he does, but the other parrots call him
'Maestro'!")
