Perhaps. This man on the street got his information from Gramophone, which
in September of last year wrote:
"Gardiner used to record for the Universal Classics group of labels –
Deutsche Grammophon and Philips – until they parted company four years ago,
much to the surprise of many in the classical record world since Gardiner
was consistently one of Universal’s best-selling classical artists."
