Don't you mean to say "The cesspool has risen to new heights"?
If the cesspool sinks to a new depth, then it is almost empty.
Or you could say "RMCR has sunk to new depths [in the cesspool]."
But all of this depends upon members making new contributions to the
cesspool. If their efforts flag, then the cesspool will start to
empty. If Mr. Deacon were to take a month vacation, the cesspool would
face an incipient drought. If the trolls were to have computer
problems, things could become even worse (better). And if the
political posters were to put "OT" on their posts and get ignored (not
read), then the cesspool could be converted to a wine cellar.
