? Lots of your rights cease with death, don't they? Where's your right to
liberty? Right to life? Property wasn't even listed. Still, your idea is
wrong, as I'll show below.

For the same reason that it would be taxed (or "sabotaged", as you'd say) if
Matthew, Sr. decided to do that while he was alive: the transfer of large
amounts of money to anyone other than a spouse is a taxable event, in
general. Whether you're dead or alive.
