I no longer think one American government can govern over the defacto
regions that are forming in America.  There are observable differences
between areas: the South, the north east, mid-atlantic east coast, mid-
west, west coast, the west (east of the rockies).  Maybe even the
southwest and the southeast.

These regions have conflicting cultures that at times are in direct
opposition to each other.  The regions compete as if they are separate
countries.  No government can satisfy the electorate in all these
regions.  This is what is causing the constant pre-civil war mentality
in some areas.

The only sane way out is an American Union of regions, similar to the
European Union.

Here's where that thinking is messed up. This country is actually 50
countries already and they are all independent with one central off to
run a few specific details under a contract called the Constitution.
If the Federal government would do only what they were allowed and the
people would get a little wiser to what they had to put up with then
everyone would get along just fine.

Why they hell should Texas have any say over California wanting to
sell pot like it was coffee and why should California or New York care
if Mississippi has the 10 commandments on the front of a city hall?

Liberals have forgotten what they really were in the beginning -
people wanting liberties (and letting others have theirs),
Conservatives have forgotten that they don't have to have everyone
thinking their way. Musicians have forgotten that the reason for
playing music was to have a mellow lifestyle and to not have hang
themselves with ties and report to an office.

It seems to me that most musicians these days are so damned political
in ways that push towards some far off this or that, they have lost
track of who they are and while they were looking the other way, they
stopped making money at their trade.

I guess you missed the message in the movie "Cabaret".  It's just a
movie, but it makes a point about the arts and politics.   Politics is
the environment in which we exist.  If you want to stop the cuts in
the Arts and apply the cuts to the Pentagon then you have to get
political.

I'm not saying don't get involved - I'm saying don't make more of it.
Anyway that was not the real point of the post.- Hide quoted text -

I'm going by what the republicans and tea party say they are planning/
hoping to accomplish. The message is clear and leaves little to
inference.
