What difference does it make to me if you like the O-Port?

This thread was not actually addressed to you David.

Do your thing babe!

Babe. That was a very good movie.

Sell your products too.

A) Not my products.
B) I'm not selling them in any case. I may be an endorsee of the
company, D'Addario, that distributes this product, but I don't sell
products for them. My recommendation may help sell products for them,
but a lot of people recommend a lot of different things. What I do
say to anyone that is interested in something that I like is that you
will only know if you like it also by trying it.

The very fact that I endorse the strings - I use EXP 45's by the way,
with a composite 3rd string, and Pro Arte 7th and 8th strings - is
ample indication that I like them. I also think the new Planet Waves
PW-CT-10 Headstock Tuner is great, as are the PW-CPGRA-10 cables. I
hope your stomach is not churning right now because I mention all of
this.

This is a NG where people sometimes write about guitar related
things. That's what I did. I found out about a new product called
the O-Port. I got one for my guitar and my wife's guitar. They did
what the company claimed they would do. That's a very good thing. I
shared that information and now several other people, including you,
have gotten good results with the O-Port. I'm happy about that.

You can even tell me that you're giving me
the straight dope.

I am not concerned whether or not you think I am an honest person.

Don't expect me to believe it.

I don't expect anything from you, not even civility.

I know a sales pitch
when I hear it. :-)

Sharing information here about the guitar is not a sales pitch. I
will continue to recommend things I like. My recommendation to you is
that you don't read any of these recommendations, they seemed to get
you all worked up.

Your recommendations don't get me all worked up. I read your recommendations but didn't comment on them because they didn't appear to be blatantly biased and your opinion should be respected. You're the one that felt the need to made comments on my observations - near as I can tell, you thought I didn't gush enough. What can I say? I don't gush.

I listen to a lot of sales pitches during the day - I'll always give a sale guy a chance because I admire these guys that put themselves and their ego on the line - they are what makes this country tick. Mostly I refuse them in a polite way because they deserve respect. What I can't stand is a salesman getting all whinny because they didn't sell their product or some guy treating me like an idiot. I find your pitch particularly disingenuous because you have stated that you're a D'Addario endorser. Do you think that because you're so brave an honest to say this that I should buy everything you're selling? That full disclosure crap is a favorite trick of con guys.

The bottom line pal, I tried the O-Port and found it useful - it's in my guitar as we speak and I would recommend it to people whom I think it would help. What can I say? I'm a helpful guy. This will be my last post to you.

:-)
