Several hours? The whole thing lasted about 3 minutes at most, while I
was paying.
hassling the staff at Trader Joe's simply because you could not understand the meaning of a
word used in an ironic manner.
I'm glad you've mentioned this, because I forgot to mention that I
also said this:
"Or do you mean it ironically? After all, irony is very fashionable
today."
They assured me that it was not meant ironically. They meant to say
how great their turkey is. They said precisely the opposite. They
should actually thank me for pointing this out. In fact, next time I'm
going to request a voucher for free food, as a token of their
gratitude.
I hope you do get free food from this "Trader Joe's"
You have a bit of trouble with keeping in focus. The reality is that some Joe's idea of a cute advertising twist has little to do with war and peace and freedom and slavery or the book 1984. The second reality is that I'll never take you seriously if you think that I'm stupid enough to be swayed by what you consider to be fashionable or unfashionable. I would be a sin if I was a part in you wasting another second in pondering the true meaning of the word "infamous." Therefor, our conversation is done.Your inflexibility with words and their usage which helped you greatly
through law school and pass the bar now makes it unwise for you to eat
at Trader Joe's - for a few years, anyway.
Inflexibility? To say something is infamous, without a hint of irony,
is to say that it has a horrible reputation. Fashionably, it appears
that you've bought into postmodernist nonsense vis infinite linguistic
flexibility (this is of course some of the bitter fruit of the
dictatorship of relativism, which teaches that there really is no
truth). Very Orwellian of you. Since the dumbing down is so severe
today, I should tell you what I mean. This is from the first chapter
of Orwell's 1984, the three slogans of the totalitarian regime:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.
You've not shown the people that the Last Man is upon us.
True, I haven't. You and the Trader Joe troglodytes have.
OTOH, I think it's a good idea to pursue the free food voucher. I would suggest that you not use it at that Trader Joe's - for obvious reasons.
