No. I'm using eathlink's news server, and mozilla thunderbird newsreader.
Apparently earthlink has "upgraded" its news service in the past week or
so, and didn't bother to tell us that there is a new nntp server to set
our newsreader to. After I reset my reader it seems to be working (from
home--I'm posting thru Verizon here from work) but there seems to be a
delay of a couple of minutes before my posts show up on the newsgroup.
On a news-service related note, over at rec.music.classical.recordings,
there is a mass spammer who is doing something apparently called
"splorging" or something like that. Some bot(s) are generating thousands
of nonsense posts, and making it very difficult for the newsgroup to
operate. Originally these seemed to be coming from Crete; now they seem
to be coming from several sources. At first they were crossposted, so
some newsreaders could filter them out, but now they are not. People are
reporting the occurrences, and some are reportedly attempting to filter
out this bilge. In any case, this seems to be occurring in several
newsgroups now, so keep an eye out.

The news.earthlink.net has gone to hell in a handbasket. The
news.west.earthlink.net server works just fine. news.east.earthlink.net may
also be ok.
