Wouldn't it have been refreshing if, during that parade of youtube
idiocy on CNN, one of the candidates had interrupted one of the clown
questioners and asked:

"What IS this? Is this a joke? Is this an entertainment? Is this a
CIRCUS? Can we get SERIOUS here? What has become of us? Do you
realize what this debonair nihilism says about the soul of modern man?
Do all of you really embrace the Brave New World?"

And wouldn't this have been refreshing too:

"Yes, without any apologies whatsoever, I send my children to private
school. Why? Because they're better, I want the best for my children,
and I can afford it. Next question."

Musing over how things would be if people acted the way you wanted them
to is about as productive as wondering why people don't act the way you
want them to. Those thought patterns are a black hole that will only
grow the more you feed it. The reality is that a world where everybody
wants to do everything the same way is rather boring and moribund. For
more info on this, check out the state of Classical Guitar playing -
hopefully, there will be some born-again CGers.

Your time would probably be better spent boiling your guitar strings or
seeking porn on the internet. On second though, forget about boiling
your guitar strings...

There are some things that I would want everyone to do everything the
same way, like growing in maturity and the ability to extend
themselves for others. What do you think?

Wanting folks to grow in maturity probably does little to raise the
level of maturity of folks. Sorry to have to break that news to you.
The good news is that your yearning for this probably makes you a less
jaded fellow than I, you're also probably nicer too. Congrats on
that!

Oh, I didn't say that wanting it caused it to happen, oh no.
Therefore, don't waste time feeling sorry to "break news". My point
is in response to: "The reality is that a world where everybody wants
to do everything the same way is rather boring and moribund." There
are some things that would be great if everyone did the same way.
That was my point.

Your post made you sound like a dreamer type. There's nothing wrong
with that as long as you can do more than dream. As a practical
matter, we have no control over other people's thinking and actions
except in a pereferal way. My guess is that you believe this too and
therefore you act in a mature fashion and extend yourself to help
others. I sure do. If you don't, then the only thing you are is a
dreamer as Jackson seems to be.

Kids need to have time to think about how things could be and what
they will do when they grow up and young adults still have the luxury
to spend their time in dreams but Jackson is getting seriously close
to his cutoff date. Peace bro.
