Re: OT: CNN Democratic "Debate"

I guess you weren't convinced by my reasoning, then.

Let me put it this way: the government exists to safeguard and express the will of the people (theoretically). Yet the current power structure (corporate) has succeeded in making "Hello, I'm from the government, and I'm here to help," a curse, a sound of horror like the shower scene in Psycho. That same power structure, as epitomized by Reagan, starves public education as if it were an anaconda to be defeated; then points to the incompetence of public education when pushing corporate education down our throats. It is the scorched earth policy.

I hope you don't mind my repetition, but a corporation exists solely to make money, a government has the motive of the public good. In theory, the corporation has an acquisitive, dominating, amoral personality (traits which define a psychopath in human beings, but allowed to slide with "artificial" human beings.)

That market does not work without government interference. Adam Smith would be horrified to see what our libertarian friends call a free market. In the end, capitalism and socialism both culminate in gargantuan and unresponsive concentrations of power.

It certainly is the corporations' fault!

It's all the corporations' fault? That's a bit hard to prove.
