Much could be written about this modern notion that salvation comes
through change. This is related, of course, to the Oprahist idea that
"life is about the journey, not the destination" - along with all of
the other vacuous slogans of today's dictatorship of relativism.

The inverse of your so-called Oprahist idea is 'life is about the
destination and not the journey' which was used by the early church to
keep the unwashed masses in line and subservient to Rome. Is that how
you want to live your life?
If on departing this world you find that everything taught by the
church was crap and there isn't anything but a big black void, you
might have wished you savored the 'journey' a bit more. Hedge your
bets and enjoy the journey, if there is an afterlife I bet God will
forgive you. Sh/e has bigger fish to fry...
