Here in Austin, every year there's a special show with a bunch of
bands celebrating Elvis Presley's birthday. The same goes for Buck
Owens and others I can't think of offhand.
My question: If one were to have a special show honoring the Beatles'
birthday, what day would be the most appropriate to hold it on?

In the US, I think the date should be the date of their first
performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
In Australia, perhaps it could be June 11th, the day they arrived in
Sydney (via Darwin).
I don't know all the details of the Beatles' tour in Australia, but I
do remember seeing photos and/or film as well as listening to
interviews. I recall that fans in Australia gave the Beatles an
incredible, overwhelming welcome. So if June 11 was when they first
landed in Australia to start their tour, yes, I think that would be a
good date to commemorate.
