I've been wondering for a while. John said in some interview that
Girl was about Yoko (figuratively, since I guess he hadn't met her
then). But isn't that a negative thing to say?. Isn't the woman
from the song some kind of femme fatale figure...?. I don't see
why he'd say that.

The quote: "Girl is real. There is no such thing as the girl; she
was a dream, but the words are all right. It wasn't just a song,
and it was about that girl - that turned out to be Yoko, in the
end - the one that a lot of us were looking for".

I don't think the girl in the song is necessarily a femme fatale.. I
think John is describing a typical real relationship with all its
ups and downs.

It sounds like a pretty bad relationship to me! :).

I agree. The song songs like a one sided relatilonship where the girl
is into herself. One can hear John's frustration in the song by his
deep sighing.- Ocultar texto de la cita -

I've always interpreted his sighing as something else! :).

Yes, me too.  That doesn't sound like "frustration" to me!-

I'm missing something . . . . so what do those sighs mean?

He's horny.- Ocultar texto de la cita -

More straighforward than the other's explanations :).

That is how I, and everyone I know, understands it.
