He has to swear (or affirm) an oath. There's no requirement that a
bible (or koran, or any other object) be used. Obviously this dickwad
never sat on a jury, because if he did, he'd notice that each witness
swears (or affirms) an oath, and while the witness may request a bible
or koran, it's hardly ever requested (a bible is usually present in
the courtroom, and I have never seen a koran in one).

"Raise your right hand" is all the clerk says. Not "Raise your right
hand and put your left hand on this."
