Fun song! ?What better way to pay tribute to George and Roy, both of
whom I've always admired!
(drums are from a soft synth, everything else is me. ?The slide
guitar parts were tough for me, as I'm basically a beginner when it
comes to slide.)
Comments welcome, as always!
Great fun, Rich! It takes guts to tackle The Voice, and I have to say
you really did it justice.
Thanks!
When I was in high school -- wow, now 30 years ago -- and playing in a
very flawed '60s cover band, we used to have fun doing as many
"voices" as possible -- sometimes switching them around -- I'd do Oh!
Darling as Lennon, then Harrison, then Ringo -- the other singer
would do I Don't Want to Spoil the Party as Buddy Holl, Bob Dylan,
Johnny Cash and Elvis. We'd also switch intros around liberally -- the
Turn! Turn! Turn! riff for Good Golly Miss Molly, etc.
My most successful efforts to "do" a voice in my high school days was
Davy Jones of the Monkees. I didn't care that much for the Monkees back
in those days (1966), but our bass player did, and more importantly, so
did the chicks ;-)
While we were usually goofing around, yours was truly the sincerest
form of flattery. Keep 'em coming!
I appreciate your kind comments!
