It kinda creeped me out back then. I was a bit younger, though.
Yeah, I guess if you were young enough you could be susceptible to that.
I also got a kick out of the people who kept looking for the subliminal
messages!
One that I always enjoyed although it was thoroughly "pooh poohed"
every time I dared to speak of it was in the lyric of the song "Teddy
Boy".
"Teddy used to tell her he'd be twice as good."
"Dead he used to tell her he'd be twice as good."
I maintain that our brains hear sounds, and then must interpret just
what was said. When there is a homonym of one, or even two words
involved, the brain "considers" ALL meanings before it finally decides
which one to suppose to be meant by the artist.
There... I've said it! Another Paul is dead clue!
"Dead he used to tell her he'd be twice as good."
Christ! What am I saying?
That makes no sense, but I always had one I seem to have discovered
myself, never heard anyone else mention it, that seemed to be a decent
(fake) post-Beatles PID "clue" that fit in with the mythical narrative
just as well as most of the fmiliar 60's classics. Anyway it was Paul
singing "Slow down driver I wanna stay alive" in "Helen Wheels"! Just
as eerie if you want it to be, as "He blew his mind out in a car" or
"You were in a car crash"!
