Some of you might get a kick out of the new "Green Day" album, recorded
in a satirical, alternate garage-rock guise. Hear the whole album (if
"Sally" sounds like "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone."
A few other tracks have chord progressions so '60s-generic that they
could recall countless other tunes.

But still a lot of fun and a definite homage. When you mentioned "Sally"
and it's resemblance to Stepping Stone, I thought it might be the music
being used on the upcoming HBO series "Generation Kill". It wasn't but some
parts of that song, (whatever it is), is very reminiscent of Stepping Stone:
