Some of you might get a kick out of the new "Green Day" album,
recorded in a satirical, alternate garage-rock guise. Hear the whole
album (if you like) at the above link.
"Mother Mary" sounds like "A Town Called Malice."Shades of The Smiths, too.
"Dark Side of Night" sounds like "Heart Full of Soul."Could be the Moody Blues, in spots. And Green Day's own "Welcome To
Paradise"!
"She's A Saint" is strongly reminiscent of The Who's version of
"Summertime Blues". The "Ruby Room" progression (including the organ)
reminds me of something but I can't place it.
Paying homage to their predecessors or spoof? I guess it's a mixture of
both. I'm seriously thinking of getting this one. Thanks for the post!
