Looking for accurate Beatles info. I've read a few of the online
biographies but I'm still not finding the information I want. I know
John Lennon settled down in NYC, but at any time did all or any of the
Beatles become US citizens? If so, which ones. If so, why? To
avoid higher UK tax?
John settled in NYC. None of the Beatles became US citizens. Unknown if
John applied, I doubt if he did.
Was there ever a time when the US used immigration laws to try to
deport the Beatles from the US?
Yes. Google search John's deportation issues that began in the early 1970's
and ended in 1975 and see the many opinions surrounding his deportation
case.
More specifically, did they burn their draft cards AFTER become US
citizens? Were they ever involved in the burning of draft cards in
any capacity?
None of the Bealtes were eligable for the US draft, therefore, none had
draft cards.
Thanks. I'm trying to clear up an argument with a friend who has made
some negative claims about the band.
