(besides the fact that he sings it) that John may have written the
bridge - forget where I read this, maybe Allan Pollack (Notes On
series) or Ian McDonald (Revolution in the Head) pointed it out - and
the strongest similarity to the Pepper bridge which he also sings on -
they have pretty much the same chords and harmonic rhythm - basically
the two bridges are identical:
IV - I - IV - V - V

Pepper is IV - VII - IV - V - V (C-F-C-D-D)
I stand corrected, you're right, the main point I think still holds
though, structurally and for overall effect they're quite similar.
