OK, I'm going to go with abe slaney's recommendation and spell out
exactly *who* I am talking about. See below.
Oh, the old "guilt by association" tactic!
Not really, RichL. I brought it up because it appeared to be the
theme between Sean and F.P. If you reread their discussion, you can
see they touched upon the "team" issue. I was merely continuing the
discussion.
I'll confess I haven't been here all that long, but it seems to me from
what I've seen that a majority of Parella's posts have been
Yoko-trashers. He/she doesn't post all that often, but when it happens
it's usually a doozy. Though I see lately that Ringo is now his/her
occasional target.
Come on, get real. I don't think you can point to more than one other
"regular" here who supported in any way the person you are referring
to.
Actually I can think of 3 right now. I suppose I can name them here,
but I fear that would just start more flames. I don't want to do
that. I would prefer to let the past be the past, but there are 2 in
particular who continue to support this troll.
I said one *other* regular. That's in addition to the person you call
the anti-semetic troll. I think most of us agree that he's gone way
beyond the bounds of decency on many occasions. No problem there.
Bessie's the other one.
BTW, I don't consider you part of the "anti YT team" at all. People
are entitled to their opinions; as I've said before, Sean has his
opinion, FP has his opinion. You have your point of view and I
respect it even when we disagree. You know that.
Thanks. But I think there are a number of other people who often get
lumped into the "pro-Yoko" category that feel basically the same way I
do.
I object to the incidents where posters make personal attacks on other
posters rather than addressing the content of the post.
Yes, and so do I. If there are occasions where I've gone that in the
past, I've regretted it (I don't think it' happened in RMB). But one
thing you have to realize is that many people don't behave on usenet the
same way that you and I do. I think for some people, the personal
reaction arises because they are upset with the way that you and some of
the others treat Yoko, and maybe they want you to see how it feels?
Here's my take on it. While there are some folks on here that truly
want to use usenet to convey their points of view, there are others
that are similar to the "Nowhere Man'" who don't have a point to make
only wish to tackle the opponent on a personal level when their
information on the subject is next to nil. They trash the user this
way and that in order to get a reaction, because it's a form of
entertainment to them.
Say if I were in a deep conversation about Linda McCartney's role in
Paul's life. I have my point-of-view and opinion ready, but the other
user doesn't really want to chat about Linda, they just want to attack
you because they can.
I feel that many of the sources in John's life are erroneous, and
their accounts cannot be taken very seriously most of the time. This
could be due to a dispute some time in the past or some other event
that happened during the course of that time period that might have
explained those feelings towards that particular person. I get the
feeling that personal biographies can be very judgmental in their
views of what actually happened; it's usually based on the person's
personal point-of-view that is subject to questioning. So when reading
a biography, it's best to keep an open mind. Think to yourself: what
is the aim or aspiration of this person? Why is he writing this
vindictive material on this person?
That is why I brought up
the troll who had his account banned.
Which troll has his account banned? I missed that episode. Did someone
on here report his profile? Maybe we can all contribute to the "fart"
troll's demise.
."teams". A number of us happen to be bothered by the few posters who
take every possible opportunity to rip into Yoko. And I happen to
think it's hypocritical to whine about the conduct of a few here yet
use the same sorts of tactics to regularly attack another person. To
you it's ok because she's famous, as if the regular rules and
