The overwhelming majority of off topic political posts in this
newsgroup are started by posters from the opposite side of the
spectrum than Fatt, but Rich never complains about those posts. He's
being disingenuous here.

OK, here's a list of politics- and religion-oriented off topic posts that
are visible on my newsreader now.

NAAWP (wake up white people) (posted by "fritz" pretending to be Governor
Swill)

Twelve proofs that Muhammed is a true prophet (posted by someone outside the
group)

Illegal beaners think they have rights (posted by "fritz" pretending to be
O'Leary)

*The plan (who's the strawman), posted by Eric B., a rightward-leaning
off-and-on RMB participant

WTC towers: the case for controlled demolition (posted by someone outside
the group)

Concept of God in Islam (posted by someone outside the group)

*OT: Islam, the religion of brotherhood at work in France (posted by
Fattuchus)

*OT: The evils of multiculturlism [sic] or why we don't want you here
(posted by Iben Getiner)

Islam (posted by someone outside the group)

*OT Liverpool teacher arrested for insulting Islam religion (posted by
Nancy)

Election '08 and the Beatles part I (posted by someone outside the group)

*The religion of peace at it again (posted by Me)

The posts marked with asterisks* came from within RMB. And I'm not even
counting the "fritz" ones, decidedly right-wing, as within the group
although I think it's extremely likely that "fritz" is one of us having a
bit of "fun".

OK, so we have a total of 12 posts that are visible to me. Of these, 7
(including "fritz"s two) are from outside the group.

I don't think it's too much of a leap to claim that the five remaining,
marked with asterisks, came from the right side of the political fence.

Usurper Tom's claim that "The overwhelming majority of off topic political
posts in this
newsgroup are started by posters from the opposite side of the spectrum than
Fatt" is ludicrous.

That's *all five*, for those keeping score. From Fatt's side of the
spectrum.
And yes, the ones that have come from the other side (which I recall seeing
some time ago) make me uneasy also, despite me chiming in on occasion (in
some initiated by both sides).

To summarize, the five most recent "culprits" from within RMB are Eric B.,
fattuchus, Iben Getiner, Nancy, and "Me". Kinda shoots down your thesis,
doesn't it?

As Walter Cronkite used to say, "and that's the way it is."

I did a search at rmb for the word "bush" and got over 20,000 results.

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.music.beatles/search?q=bush&start=0&scoring=d&;

Of course, this is over the course of a long time and there are many
different types of "bush"es but President Bush and other politicians
are also discussed frequently at rmb as is the war in Iraq.
