Re: Ahmadinejad never denied the Holocaust, it was the media.

That's not true. The Reagan Administration essentially ended the
policy of Mutually Assured Destruction. He replaced it with "assured
survival" which was the result of a trillion dollar defense build-up
of the Pentagon's missile defense system developed under the auspices
of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI, nicknamed "Star Wars" by the
news media). MAD is dead.

Iran doesn't. Or at least, some in Iran don't -- particularly the
religious zealots who believe that murder is the best way to redeem
themselves for Allah.

Mocking a major religion--in this case, Islam--is generally considered
a form of bigotry or hate speech. Let's face it, there's an extreme
double-standard in the West regarding which religions are acceptable
and which are not. It's okay to mock Islam, Christian and Buddhism,
but if one says a word about Judaism, that person is labeled anti-
Semitic, a racist, a bigot, a Holocaust denier, and all the rest.
Nevertheless, MAD is dead because the Reagan administration killed it.
Clinton may have attempted to revive it, but our current president is
trying desperately to drive a stake through its heart, so MAD is a
moot point.

If Ahmadinejad is lying about using nuclear energy for power plants,
then that so-called lie is exactly the same one used by the Israelis
in the early 60s when JFK was trying to control *their* efforts to
develop nuclear bombs, something Israel has never admitted they have,
but the world knows they are a bunch of liars and hypocrites.

JFK didn't want to control their effort to develop nuclear bombs; he
wanted them to buy American instead of making their own.

Where on earth did you hear that? It simply is not true.

And Israel had to deny having them at all because otherwise the Soviets
would have put nuclear weaponry in the hands of the Arab nations
surrounding Israel -- nations that wouldn't have thought twice about
triggering them.

Israel has never admitted that it has the nuclear bomb, so your
argument has no merit for that reason alone. Anyone who truly
understands Israel's history of stonewalling with respect to their
nuclear capabilities understands the insanity of and hypocrisy of
condemning Iran for doing exactly what Israel has done for years.

Seriously: put aside the propaganda and look at the issue with some
clarity.

So far every point I have made is factual. Unfortunately, we can't say
the same thing about your works of fictions, namely that JFK wanted
Israel to buy nuclear bombs from the USA, and that Mutually Assured
Destruction is alive and well under the Bush Administration. Talk
about propaganda.

You're dealing with nations that while not condoning suicide
bombing and other attacks on civilian populations, certainly do little
to stop it.

Why should they stop it? None of the Arab and Muslim leaders and
peoples truly recognize Israel's right to exist because they stole the
land from the Palestinians, and the Jewish settlers had no claim to it
whatsoever, other than antiquated Old Testament scriptures that claim
Palestine belongs to the Jews. For that matter, most Jews in the
modern world have no ancestral ties to the ancient Semitic Jews of
Palestine. Most modern Jews are descended from the Khazars, an ancient
but extent people from Eastern Europe whose king converted them to
Judaism in around 740 AD. This puts the lie to the basic argument that
Jews even have a religious claim to Palestine. The descendents of the
Khazars (which is most of modern Jewry) have about as much right to
Palestine as the Irish have to China - NONE. It's completely insane.

They can't because the relgious zealots are too well armed
and control too much of the territory for the governments to really
have any power over parts of their country (such as southern Lebanon,
which is Hezbollah territory to the Lebanese rather than their own).

The descendents of the Khazars have no claim to Palestine, only to
Eastern Europe.

Nuclear weapons in the hands of those who see nothing wrong in using
what's available is a surefire of detonating them.

Nuclear weapons are already in the hands of religious fanatics -- the
descendents of the Khazars who stole the land the Palestinian and make
the false claim that they (the Khazar crowd) are Semitic. What a joke.

Nuclear attacks in the middle east ruins the oil supply upon which
the rest of the world is dependent. The US has to discourage Iran
from creating nuclear weaponry.

Earlier you suggested we drop the propaganda. Why don't you start by
engaging in an honest debate about Ahmadinejad himself, and stop
making cheap shots. Ahmadinejad is an intelligent man with a PhD. He
is a religious man, but not a religious fanatic. Like many intelligent
people who are not Jewish, he raises valid questions about the
Holocaust, but he does not deny the persecution of Jews under the Nazi
regime. No scholar denies this. Some might quibble about the
definition of persecution. (In other words, some people claim that
Jewish leadership brought it on themselves by staging a worldwide
boycott against Hitler when he rose to power in 1933. In addition, in
1938, a young Jewish student named Herschel Grynszpan, from Poland,
walked into the German embassy in Paris and shot and killed a German
diplomat, Ernst vom Rath. Some say the murder of vom Rath by a Jew set
off The Night of Broken Glass, aka, Kristallnacht.) No one of any
substance challenges the fact that German Jews were placed in camps,
which is a form of persecution. Not even Ahmadinejad challenges this.
So it is a lie to claim he is a Holocaust denier, a religious fanatic,
or a terrorist. There is no substance to any of those statements. So
if you want to stop spreading propaganda, you can start by admitting
that Ahmadinejad is NOT a Holocaust denier because it is an outright
lie manufactured by the American news media.

Iran has no need for nuclear weapons.

Some would argue that the United States has no need for nuclear
weapons. And neither does Israel or any other nation on the planet. So
why single out Iran?

No one is threatening invasion. (And the only nation powerful enough
to do so is the US, who have proven in Iraq they're hopeless at keeping
the country secure once invaded.)

On that point we both agree.

If they want nuclear power, they can follow the lead of
India, Pakistan, etc. and just open everything up to the UN while the
plants are being built.

Iran won't because they lack the moderate portion of the populace to
accept westerners/foreigners in their territory unchecked. It's an
Islamic theocracy running the country.

Another double standard. Last time I checked, Israel was a Jewish
theocracy, and for some reason they have nuclear weapons, but have
never admitted it. Like Iran, Israel has always maintained that their
reactors or for nuclear power. What a joke.

And if you can't see that then... well... I guess we should all take
the advice of a most important Montrealer: "You can't argue with a
fanatic."

Eventually all nations of the world will have nuclear weapons. There's
no way to avoid it. The technology has been around for over 60 years.
It can only kept secret for so long. Eventually others will learn it
no matter what we do. So we'd better start treating each other with
more respect before its too late.
