I've still got a record player and about a thousand pieces of vinyl.
If my wife didn't insist on putting photos and things on top of the
thing and if I wasn't so lazy, I'd play the things more often than I
do.
What bothers me these days is - if I need to replace my stylus, where
on earth do I go? Last time I made a mess of it and had to take it to
a shop to get some delicate pins straighetened out and the whole thing
rebalanced. Are there any such shops any more? [What words do I put
into Google for that? Sorry. Brain dead. Just come back from a
week's holiday :-]
I suggest you go to Radio shack. They sell a good looking Turntable
for about 69 bucks...and probably have all the parts you need.
Do they have a store in Cheshire? I'll check Yellow Pages...
Anyway, my turntable is an STD which is quite a rare breed, I believe
made by an Irish company in the 80s, but it works just fine. I forget
what my cartridge is, but I wouldn't let any old shack take care of it
- I'd want a specialist!
