Sorry about your dad.
Thank you fattuc. That song will remain one of my favorite songs and
most sweetest memories. I was surprised he knew it though, having been
born in Czechoslovkia. My father, however, said they were everywhere
and influenced almost everyone he knew.
Sometimes a good song can evoke special memories or emotions. My
favorite song varies depending on my mood and the moment.
One song that I've liked for a long time (although it is not a Beatles
song) is Lullaby by Deep Forest. Have you heard of it? Anyway, I've
liked that song because I liked the melody, the arrangement, etc. It
is very beautiful.
However the singing is in a completely foreign language. It is sung
in one of the many languages of the Solomon Islands. (I don't even
know what the language is called!) I had no idea what the singers
were singing about although the melody alone was moving.
Then one day I searched for the song at youtube, and there it was,
complete with a video and a translation. When I read the lyrics, it
got me choked up . . . it is a song sung by a sister to her younger
brother to try to comfort him because their father has passed away.
