Same story here!
First of all i recorded myself on a radio with double cassette
recorder, that was when i was a child and with a friend of mine. i can
remember recording "birthday", i'm from south america so my english was
even worse than now!
i used to write the phonetics of the lyrics, i didn't know what was i
singing.
of course there was an excellent set of drums..... a tambourine.
then i start to record myself in the computer, i remember trying with
"happiness is a.." "you've got to hide.." and "because" ... haha...
and the same story goes on.... thanks to reading so much about the
beatles' recordings and bootlegs things i did learnt about stereo
effects, overdubbing, double tracking, really simple things, but for a
home recordings it makes all sounds better.
