Sort of joking, but...I have to say - after 5 years of
this game - the overwhelming observation was that men married for a

course, and it doesn't preclude actual affection.
Silly me, marrying for love 4 times.

In my experience love seems spontaneous, but always follows my previous
intentions - as unromatic as that seems. When I've been primarily after
looks, I seemed to "fall in love" with whomever was hot. When I
switched to looking for someone to start a family with who I fell in
love with changed. They both seemed like spontaneous love when they
hit.
So perhaps, men fall in love with women's looks and women fall in love
with security.
To keep this on topic, this is one of the many reasons I have no
trouble understanding that the day Lennon did so much acid that he
wanted Apple to issue a press release that he was an incarnation of
Christ was also the day of Two VIrgins when he decided to hook up with
Yoko on a more permanent basis (or that's what I've read) foreshadowing
all the Peace Events.
