True . . . . I think people are still pushing the envelope. Look at
some of the programs on TV where people eat bugs, swap wives, etc.

What was weird 30 years ago is accepted now as common. Thirty y ears
ago, we would never hear words like "ass" or "bitch" on TV. Now it is
commonplace.

Thirty years ago, if a rock star or actress wanted to be "sexy" she
might appear in a low cut dress or a modest two piece bathing suit.
Nowadays, many stars appear virtually topless or 90% naked (look at
Cher's outfits) or get away with being on TV in a thong!

Nowadays on Broadway or off Broadway we have shows like "The Vagina
Monologues" or "Puppetry of the Penis." (I guess if John were alive,
he would have signed up for Puppetry of the Penis)

Rap stars and others use the f--- word commonly. (when John did it, I
think many people were shocked) Although it gets bleeped out on TV and
radio, it't no longer shocking to most ears, and does not stop a group
from reaching the very top. (Look at Green Day's best selling and
acclaimed CD American Idiot)

I understand what you are saying and agree to an extent . . . . .

However, I don't believe John (with Yoko's encouragement) was doing all
these things because he really thought it was artistic . . . .I am
sorry to say I sincerely believe he was on some type of destructive or
self destructive path (combined with drug problems) and should have
been "reined" in. And there is no excuse for having Yoko sitting in on
Beatles sessions giving orders (over a mic, no less!) or dressed in a
negligee and entertaining visitors. IMHO such behavior is just plain
rude.
