Not true. They have played together at least twice before publicly,
at Paul Simon's benefit for the homeless in 12/87 (Billy was in the
band that played behind Bruce on Glory Days) and Billy made a guest
appearance again on Glory Days at the Coliseum in 1992.
They have also played numerous times together during the closing jam
at the R&R HOF ceremonies.

Besides Billy joining Bruce for Glory Days. Billy played NY State of Mind,
Bruce played an acoustic BTR, they both sang back-up for Dion on Teenager in
Love, and at least Bruce played the finale (Rock and Roll Music)
Good boot, too, for those who have not heard it - Paul Simon was the lead
star (with and without Ladysmith Black Mambazo), Lou Reed and James Taylor
also appeared, with Debbie Harry, Grace Jones, Ruben Blades, Chevy Chase,
Don Mattingly and Ron Darling in backup roles)
I was at the Paul Simon benefit. Fun night. I was also at the
appearance at Nassau.
