Looking at getting a new computer. Wanted a Dell but the guy I talked
to there said they could no way match this deal on a new Sony.

Before I pull the trigger anyone have this one?

I don't have that model, but I can say this. I purchased Sony Vaios
for both of my sons a few years back and they were nothing but
trouble. Within a year, one had to have the CD drive replaced, the
other had to have have something else done, although I can't remember
what. Then into the second year, one had to have the motherboard
replaced and the other's fan went out toward the end of the second
year. At that point I went back to HP's as I had one for years that
had no trouble...it is a 4GB, that's how old it is...I passed it on
the my young nieces for them to play around on, and it still runs
perfectly and has never ever had a repair done to it. The new HPs
that we have are great too. Unfortunately before I had all these
problems with the Vaio's I told my sister how nice they were...and she
bought one...nothing but trouble. She had to have it in for repairs
three times in the first year and a half.

So...that's just my experience. Maybe they are better now than they
were a few years ago. But I'd still check Consumer Reports.

I've had my VAIO fr 5 years now - never a problem - its the VGN-A150

I don't remember what model of VAIOs we had...both were the same..but
they royally sucked. I guess maybe we just got lucky?? : )
