Did that bother you in the comic book form?

No. I willingly suspended disbelief because the comic book held my
interest. But I don't compare movies to their source material anyway. Not
good film criticism. Comparing two different media is really comparing
apples to oranges. The movie bored me and failed to hold my interest
leaving my wandering mind free to speculate about all sorts of random
silliness. If a story is good, and told well, it will make you want to
believe it ( I am in no way plugging the new XF movie " I Want to Believe"
here <g>). However, it the story fails to hold your interest you start
thinking outside of the story....I found myself doing things like counting
the number of car chases, checking my watch, noticing how silly people
look when dressed as bats etc, etc. etc.

Sometimes, no..often I think, less ls more. This was a very crowded movie.
Too much going on and yet no space to really develop or care about anyone.
I felt repulsed and detached at the same time. And bored. And all those
explosions hurt my ears.

Anyhow. This here review pretty much sums up what I thought . I was glad
to find it tonight as I was starting to think it was just me...
