I just wanted to thank everyone of you (and the man on the plane, who
I doubt reads this forum) for recommending this awesome book to me! I
just can't put it down! It is so full of history and Chicago history
and architectural history and entertwined with a serial killer, I just
can't put it down. I'm half-way through and I just LOVE it! I keep
putting the book down and running to Wikipedia to look at the real
characters' names and things like "ferris wheel," although I haven't
looked up the assumed name of the serial killer.

Anyway, thank you! Any other great "can't put this book down" books
you all know of, please come forth with them! This one I would
recommend to everyone, and it deserved the nomination it got as "Book
of the Year."

That's an excellent book. I also recommend Larson's book, Isaac's Storm, which is about the 1901 Galveston hurricane.
