Has anyone here had extensive nerve damage? According to the doctors, I
have severed one of the nerve bundles in my left thumb completely. It has

with any kind of treatment/surgery/therapy in this regard?
I'm afraid that I won't be able to do a lot of things any more - play
guitar, open jars, use a regular pepper mill, etc. Is there any hope?
I have had a lot of nerve damage including numbs spots. These were from an
illness that attacks nerves and the myelin covering them though...so I
don't know that it is comparable. With *proper* treatment it all pretty
much resolved. At one point I had impaired muscle sense below my waist. I
could walk and feel that, and I could feel pinpricks etc but if I did a
runners stretch I couldn't feel the muscle pull....It was very odd and I
felt like I was made of rubber.
It all came back.
I believe that they are finding that nerve damage is not as permanent as
once thought .. I would ask for a few other opinions if you can or
research it extensively yourself.
There is a lot of information out there.. If I had accepted what doctors
told me back then I would have kept the MS diagnosis , received exactly
the WRONG treatment, and would probably be in a wheelchair today.
Yesterday I hiked for two hours. I am tired....but only because I am
ancient and stayed up until 2:00 AM.
So...I'm just sayin'....question *everything*.
