That would be the Jackson Browne "Hld Out" tour show at Blossom Music
cneter, at which I lost both contact lenses (not at the same
time)....I'm BLIND without them.
I lost my glasses at a Buzzcocks / Gang of Four show in 1979. Found 'em back at the end of the night, too. You should see what 400 pogoing punks can do to a pair of glasses! That was an odd night, with unseen strangers crashing into me from all sides for hours.
Heh, sounds like the Metallica show I caught at the Long Beach arena back in Dec '88 right after they released their "And Justice For All" album.
I actually bought 1st row dead center tickets for myself and a buddy through an agency (it was his birthday/x-mas gift) and through the opening act, we were really happy and excited we had such great seats. Unfortunately, as soon as Metallica came on, the entire floor went nuts trashing the folding chairs and bum rushing the stage. I got knocked down and somehow got one of my legs trapped in a folding chair so that when someone stood on the chair, I was pinned on the floor like being stuck in a bear trap. In the process, I lost my shoes and my glasses, neither of which I ever recovered. My friend had disappeared and I never saw him again until after the show ended. It took about 4 songs to be able to get up and move about 50 feet back from the stage to a relatively comfortable distance. Probably the worst part was, around an hour into the show, I happened to see my old ex-girlfriend's friend literally being molested by a group of guys up front in a mosh pit who had torn her shirt off - she was in real danger, screaming and no one was helping her. I managed to pull her out of the pit and gave her my shirt to wear and we found her friends who took her from there but she was pretty much traumatized and I later learned she stopped going to concerts altogether after that show. I got out of that show with only my pants, my car keys and my wallet.
