Also, my hunch is that agriculture was invented by the myopic.
Necessity is the mother of invention, and it's probably a lot easier
for a near-sighted person to find what they've planted than to search
for bushes and trees to pick or animals and fish to spear.

Or simply because it just hasn't yet? We still have the utterly
useless appendix and the coccyx.
