your cd/dvd drive needs to be able to burn in order for you to get the
shows onto a disc.

so i cannot burn even if i purchase nero or some other dvd burning
software? i have a dvd drive that plays dvds. i don't know if it burns
dvds. i am thinking that i have a dvd drive that only plays dvds but
if i purchase nero i will be able to then burn. i am so confused.

Think of it this way. ?You can buy gas, but unless you have a car you
can't put the gas in the car.

In Windows Explorer right click on your DVD drive and select
properties, than hardware. ?On theRight click on your dvd drive and
when the box appear select properties, when the next box appears
select hardware. ?The device properties will tell you what kind of
drive you have. ?It if ways something like DVD-RW its a burner. ?If
you are not sure, post the info back.

Well....you do need SOMETHING to convert the files you download into
files that are at least playable on the computer.
