I got in right away, didn't want GA, but couldn't get a pair of any
decent seats. Don't understand how you can get in right away and not
get anything decent. I'm bummed. : (

Are any lower level seats for any cities even going on sale to the
general public?- Hide quoted text -

Not much. From what I've seen at the shows, the good lower levels are
all going folks with connections-I call them Weathergirls since they
may have gotten those great seats from the local TV weather girl. Or
her neighbor.
Too bad that's who Bruce wants to get the best seats-local klinkers
with no direct connection to anyone in the band, a lot of whom talk
through the show and leave early. I bet if he knew the extent this
goes on, he'd be furious.- Hide quoted text -

I will tell you it is very disheartening. I have been a huge
Springsteen fan since I was about 12. I went and saw him when I
could, beginning when I was 14. I got married had two kids and was
divorced by the time I was 24. Raising two kids by myself in the
city, paying tuition, rent, etc., drained every cent I ever earned.
Then I went back to school, and worked, and raised my two boys by
myself. Any money I earned went to pay my kids' tuition, uniforms,
clothes, food, shoes, etc. My mother's guilt did not allow me to even
try to squeeze out money for a Springsteen show when I knew that I
could use that money for my kids, taking them to the movies etc. They
were always first. For years and years I did not go see Springsteen,
but when he'd be at the Rosemont or the stadium, which was within a
few miles of my apartment, I would sit on the window ledge, listening
to his music, crying through many a concerts as my kids slept in the
bed. When I was done with my pity party, I'd shake it off, go tuck
the covers around them, and be happy that I made the choices I made.
The next day I'd scan all the papers and read every article or review
I could get my hands on and try to imagine how great it was to be a
part of the crowd the night before. Well, I finished college, I got
my master's degree even, and moved out to the suburbs and bought a
house. I raised my two boys, one is in college and one graduates
early in 4 weeks. I have finally reached a financial level where I
can afford to squeeze out the money and go to some concerts. I'm not
well off, but I have spent 20 years sacrificing for my children and
feel I deserve to live a little life now and so I got ready for this
tour, and started putting some money aside for it. I got to see him
twice in Chicago, drove up one evening without tickets and bought a
good ticket outside the stadium. Had tickets for the 2nd night. It
felt so amazing to see him again after 20 odd years. I felt
alive..and I was able to actually bring my two boys on the second
night. Amazing to stand between them, one at 6 foot 4 and the other
at 6 foot 1, and look up at them as the first notes of Thunder Road
were played. Thunder Road which was the song that I used to sing them
to sleep with. So now I feel I have made it.....and I want to go see
him on a few more dates.....but how ridiculously hard it is to get
decent tickets....how disheartening it is to have waited all these
years and still consider the possibility that I might not be able to
see him unless I sit nosebleed (which my fear of heights makes a tad
bit stressful). I'm not giving up mind you. I"ll keep trying for
tickets. I'm just frustrated, disappointed and sad about the fact
that true Springsteen fans like myself have such a hard time getting
tickets while legal scalpers scoop them up left and right. Sorry to
rant on and on....I"m just so frustrated.
Peace,
Debbie
