bit torrent / dsl connection problems

Does anyone know why we would lose our dsl connection while I"m
attempting to download shows? I tried using BitTorrent and Bit Comet
but I keep experiencing this problem. Our router is the Apple Airport
and I use Windows XP. We called SBC and they told us how to cycle
through to reset the router. This works each time, but then when I try
downloading again there goes the connection again.

I thought maybe I'd have better luck using Junglenad instead of Dime
but experienced the same problem.

For now I uninstalled BitTorrent and Bit Comet because even without
attempting any downloads overnight we had no dsl connection first
thing this morning.

Any explanations why this is happening or any suggestions how to
overcome it? Are there other methods of downloading other than using
bit torrent?
