Repeat after me... I WILL vote for the lesser of two evils... Besides that, you have to realize she is saying what she has to to get elected. As does EVERY candidate. You should judge her by her past actions and competency. I think it's a mistake to vote one issue, even one so important as this war. I trust her to do the right thing. I believe she will, like her husband, surround herself with competent people, including her husband, and she will not disappoint. She's a smart lady.

I'm not convinced she's the lesser of two evils. Domestically, she may
be better but in terms of the Middle East she's no better than anyone
else.

Well, I'd say that is lesser evil. But I'm unconvinced she would continue the war. I just don't see it. Is she taking money from defense contractors?

You have to also consider the possibility of a Congress that is
heavily Democratic. Who's going to rein her in? So far the Congress
has been as bad as Bush. At some point you have to simply realize that
the folks in Washinton, no matter D or R, have a different agenda than
the 70% of us who are opposed to what is going on in the Middle East.

There is a reason Balloon and the rest of the neocons wouldn't be
unhappy to see her elected.

No, they want to see her nominated because they think they can win against her. Why else would they be running against her already?

She's bought and paid for and like you
say, as a smart lady she knows whose buttering her bread. She's just
another who will do what she's told.

Are you kidding me? When Russert quoted her husband contradicting her, did you see the immediate response, "Well, he's not standing here." Then she tried to joke about it, but she's one strong lady. She'll go her own way and she'll be a leader to make this country proud. You cannot discount her entire career, which has been very liberal. This is the true Hillary. She HAS to say what she thinks will get her elected, because if she doesn't, she won't be able to do any good. She is, at heart, a good person, and I trust that she will do what's right for this country. She will likely appoint Wes Clark as Sec of State, someone who can give you detailed plans on how to use diplomacy to resolve the issues in the ME and someone who used diplomacy and managed a coalition of NATO countries to resolve the Bosnia problem without escalating it and without any US casualties. I don't believe there is any real reason you can give me that she would continue the war. She doesn't take oil money or defense money, and those are the only people who want the war.

If she is taking money from HMOs, then *maybe* you're right that she won't resolve the health crisis. But I think you'll be surprised. Once she gets in office, she may decide that she won't need their help to get re-elected. She was behind a single payer plan before, why wouldn't she go there again once she is in position? If I were her, I'd take their money and then screw 'em once I got in office.
