I've just finished reading a biography of Dolley Madison, and was quite
surprise to see the authoress... oops... author, who is a woman...
continuing refer to her subject as "Dolley", and to her husband as "James."
I think there is something in the programming of many women that makes them
eschew last names. Last names seems to be more of a "guy" thing.
But you're a guy as are many of the people who refer to her as
"Hillary." I've never really liked the last name only thing myself, but
agree with your comment generally about it being more a guy thing.
By the way, this wasn't meant to single you out, but just as a jumping
off point for the observation.
