Re: nbc- Hillary, Edwards and Hussein Obama to speak at Daily Kos convention

<< How much you wanna bet it has no effect on them at all. >>

No tom, I'm afraid Patrick's right here. It will destroy them,
they'll be off hte internet by the end of the week and anyone who ever
even hit their site will have theri careers destroyed are damaged
beyond repair..

Pat's rarely wrong on these predictions, you see...such a remarkable
and empathateic barometer of the AMerican Society is he.

Let me illustrate with a little-remember tale. A couple years ago,
there was this spunky, up and coming political satirist with a fresh
new show on Comedy Central, in which he play a satirical version of a
political pundit, and prceeded to cleverly poked fun at everyone in
politics. The critics loved him, and he had a growing fan base
spanning many demographics, but very high particularly among college
students and post grad students, and young profesionals.

So things are humming along nicely, when the guy was asked to perform
at the white house press dinner. APpparenlty the Whitehouse took his
"faux pundit harater as the real thing. Anyway, he performed, and he
stuck to his guns anddid his normal routine, which included the fatal
mistake of actually making fun of the Bush administration while
standing four feet from Bush himself on the dais.

Patrick predicted correctly that this man had just committed career
sudicde, and it was true. To this day, you'd be hard-pressed to find
anyone who even remember the name of Steven Colbert or his long dead
TV show, the Colbert Report. I"m sure he's suffering in poverty and
obscurity somewhere, as are anyone who was associated with him. His
Producer, (remembe JOhn Stewart of THE DAILY SHOW) has also pretty
vbanished from public consciousness and had his show cancelled as
well, no doubt becuase of his freidnship with Colbert and and
professional support fo the Colbert Report.

This is a cautionary tale, my friend. I'm certain the terrible slump
in my own and my wife's career, as well as the devastating dip in our
family's over financial health, is directly realted to the fact that
we watched both Stewart and Colbert on occassion..and yes, we enjoyed
it when we did. How foolish we were!

It's actually remarkable that Comedy Centreal has weathered the storm
and is still on the air as a network..I suspect they too will be
dragged down by the Colbert/Stewart anchor, by and by.
