Awesome show tonight. Haven't been to a live show since 1997, but have
heard dozens on Radio Margaritaville over the years.... it was fun to
finally put a picture to the sound. I know there are not alot of
Bruce/Buffett fans.... but if you are judging it by his studio
recordings... don't. Just like Bruce, playing live makes all the
difference.

One of my first concerts was a solo Jimmy Buffett concert while I was
in high school, on his "Hot Dog And A Road Map" tour, around like 1980.
He was very relaxed and laid back, just him and a couple guitars, and
he was very good. Some of his early albums were excellent, with
clever, well written songs. Even some shows I saw with the Coral
Reefers were excellent, until the mid to late 1980s, when he started
writing sub-standard formulaic songs pandering to the silliness of the
then - growing
"Parrothead" audience.

I would probably go see him again for old times sake one day, but I
really think he sold out long ago, and the last time I saw him, in
probably 1992 or so, the antics of the crowd was a total distraction
and detracted from the show. A beach ball contest in the crowd during
the moving "Captain And The Kid," about his grandfather's death, was
all I needed to see. Absolutely horrendous.

I saw him in 1986 for the first time. Being in the Northwest we don't
get many chances to see him. Last time I saw him was around 1994 and my
impression was the same as yours. Too much focus on the crowd antics.

I enjoyed his "Barometer Soup" CD from 1995, probably the last one of
his I'd rate as being up there with his better stuff.
