The cd release mag I.C.E. apparently ceased publication last month because
it hasn't yet found investors. I noticed that the February issue was really
late (it showed up in mid-March) and there was no April issue on the stands
and finally checked out their website's message board which confirmed the
news.

Before the on-line age, it was a great resource for finding new release
dates and even up until the last couple years, with it's expanded format,
higher quality printing w/color and overall excellent contributing staff of
writers, it was still well worth the 4 or 5 bucks every month to pick up
even with the often numerous gaffs in the reporting.

Still, the mag holds a bit of sentimental value to me as they printed one of
my letters way back in '88 or '89 when I was one of the nuts who discovered
that drawing a line around the edge of a cd with a black or green marker
sometimes improved the cd's sound.

I've subscribed to ICE since about 1991 - the days when it was about 8
pages with a staple in the middle with the two color blue and black
printing. I looked forward to that thing every month. I'm sure I'm not
the only one that used to go through each issue with a hi-liter pen. It
will be missed.
