Re: NBC: Anyone Else Think That Dan Brown Is a Terrible Writer?

But that's the thing- I've heard from a lot of people whose opinions I

Me too, which is why I tend not to trust most other people's opinions,
even if I respect them. A lot of people seem to get sucked in by this
kind of crap who you'd think would know better...

And now that I think about it, I guess it's the LENGTH OF TIME that
it's been on the list, not so much the fact that it made the list
period- think "Bridges of Madison County". Blecccch.

Bingo.

No, you're right. But trudging my way through Angels and Demons and
picking it apart and figuring out how I could do better is more
mentally stimulating to me than most TV, with a few notable exceptions
of considerable quality like the ones you mention.

You should start reading some Bush administration policy documents.

A better example, I
guess, is my kids- I try to steer them away from reading only books
licensed from movie and TV series. But I'd still have them read yet
another version of "Beauty and the Beast" or "Dragon Tales" than
sitting in front of the TV watching those same stories. Obviously
there are developmental and educational issues with kids that you don't
have to worry about with (most) adults, but I still find most people
who read ANYTHING to be a little more interesting and well-rounded than
those who don't.

Both also true.
