Gotta give Bill credit for not trying to justify Duke's criminal
behavior, at least. Some kneejerks would've tried to spew something to
rationalize it.

But as for the quote, I'm not sure how much pleading guilty and
resigning after months of defiance, then breaking down in front of a
microphone really "became" Cunningham.

He betrayed the trust of his district, and then as a member of the
defense appropriations committee, of every single American taxpayer.
And during wartime, no less.
