This group is just about dead.

Well...I had endoscopic brain surgery on the 5th, so I've been out of
commission for more than a few days.

Dear lord! Are you ok?

It's quite amazing actually. I feel not that much different than the
days before I went into surgery. I had what is called a "colloid cyst"
which if gone unaddressed causes brain fluid build up and the brain
swells and then you die - this was my certain future. But I had ZERO
symptoms, which are usually severe headaches, loss of vision, and
balance issues. I got an M.R.I. because of an ear exam which
determined I suffered some appreciable hearing loss with no reason.
The audiologist wanted me to get an M.R.I. to make sure I didn't have
something nasty going on in my ears, found nothing for that problem
but wait, we forgot to tell you...we found something else. GULP! This
was back in mid April. I saw several specialists, and felt most
confident in a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic, who specializes in
endoscopic procedures of this type. I checked in on July 4th and was
home by this past Monday. Besides some very minor headache pain which
I am controlling easily with Tylenol, I am fine. I was walking within
6 hours of the surgery, which knocked the physical therapist for a
loop. They actually discharged me a day earlier than planned because
there was nothing more they could do for me that I couldn't do for
myself at home and I was not using the pain medication that was
prescribed for me (Percocet). Stitches in my scalp come out tomorrow
and then I can begin washing what remains of my filthy ass hair.
Seriously folks, if you ever need any major surgery done, please check
out the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, they are top drawer all the way
and I am living proof after having several holes the size of pencil
leads drilled into my brain. :^)

My wife was diagnosed with liver failure back in 2001.
The quacks here at our local hospital said treatment was futile and unless
she had a liver transplant she would be dead within 3 years.

They referred us to a gastroenterologist and a liver transplant team at the
Cleveland Clinic who immediately began treatment.
It's been six years now,and although she may need a transplant at some point
in the future the treatment the Cleveland Clinic provides has slowed the
progression of the disease to a crawl.

Just as Freddy said, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation is top notch all the
way.
